KINGS POINT, N.Y., August 4, 2015 – Last Wednesday, the United States Merchant Marine Academy Advisory Board presented their 2015 Annual Report to the Secretary of Transportation to the Academy’s Congressional Board of Visitors, at the Capital Visitors Center in Washington D.C.

KINGS POINT, N.Y. (July 27, 2015) – The administration at the United States Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA) at Kings Point announced on Monday that it has selected Maureen “Mo” White to lead the Department of Physical Education and Athletics (PE&A), effective today, July 27, 2015.
U.S. Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx today joined Maritime Administrator, Paul N. Jaenichen, Superintendent, Rear Admiral James A. Helis, and Academic Dean, Shashi N. Kumar, PhD, at the United States Merchant Marine Academy’s (USMMA) annual Academic Convocation to celebrate the beginning the 2014-2015 Academic Year.
In their last week of Indoctrination, the Class of 2019 was introduced to the USMMA Honor System, one of the Academy’s most significant traditions and a core component of leadership and service.
The deep commitment to service is on full display through the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy’s ongoing involvement with the Guide Dog Foundation for the Blind. KINGS POINT, N.Y., July 1, 2015 - Yesterday, the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point (USMMA)welcomed its incoming Class of 2019, consisting of 255 plebe candidates representing 46 states and the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. With 50 female candidates, the incoming class has the highest percentage of young women to enter the Academy in its history.

The keynote speaker, Maritime Administrator, Paul N. Jaenichen, Sr., gave the commencement address before a crowd of more than 2,200 including graduates, family members and representatives from the federal government, U.S. military and maritime industry.
