The U.S. Merchant Marine Academy is announcing an important change to its 2013-2014 Academic Calendar. Graduation for the Class of 2014 will now take place on Saturday, June 21, 2014 instead of Monday, June 23. As it has for many years, the awards convocation will still be held on the Friday morning prior to graduation. The schedule revision would add the Change-of-Command ceremony on Friday afternoon, with the June Ball on Friday evening.

KINGS POINT, N.Y., June 7, 2013 – As this academic year comes to a close, the United States Merchant Marine Academy acknowledges its alumni for several generous gifts.
KINGS POINT, N.Y., June 7, 2013 – As part of the United States Merchant Marine Academy's (USMMA) Capital Improvement Plan, there are several major construction projects underway. New piles at Mallory Pier have been installed allowing contractors to enter the next phase of construction, which includes dismantling the wooden pier and replacing it by laying pre-cast pier decking on the piles.
Today the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA) and its American Merchant Marine Museum observed National Maritime Day. The afternoon began with a brief ceremony at Barney Square, during which Deputy Superintendent, Rear Admiral Susan L. Dunlap, addressed the Regiment of Midshipmen, faculty, staff and guests and read the Presidential Proclamation honoring the U.S. Merchant Marine for its service to our nation.
