Affinity Groups
Kings Point offers a variety of affinity groups all Midshipmen are encouraged to join and participate! These clubs host events throughout the year for all Midshipmen to enjoy!!
Cultural Diversity Club - Raising awareness and acceptance of all cultures.
KP Ladies' Club- Kappa Lambda Pi, also known as King's Point Ladies is a club that works to ensure fair and adequate treatment of all Midshipmen, both at sea and on campus. Through this club, female Midshipmen can be paired with upper-class Midshipmen as part of the club's mentorship program. This gives club members a shoulder to lean on when times get tough, and a networking contact for future use. The club also works closely with Women Offshore Organization, hosting discussions and career development conferences.
Asian and Pacific Islander Club - The KP Asian Pacific Islander Club is an opportunity for Midshipmen to explore and enjoy Asian Pacific Islander Culture on and off campus! All who enjoy Asian culture are welcome.
Jewish Life Club - The Jewish Life Club is dedicated to the discovery, education and spiritual education of the Jewish faith for Midshipmen, whether practicing or otherwise.
KP Open Seas Club - The King's Point Open Seas Club serves as a club that educates Midshipmen about LGBTQIA+ related issues, as well as advocating for equality among all people, no matter their sexuality or gender identity, especially on campus, at sea, and in the military.
Campus Culture Committee - The Campus Culture Committee aims to provide a supportive safe space on and off campus for its Midshipmen, faculty, and staff while striving to support academic success and leadership development of the Midshipmen. It is a lead group that seeks to find ways to make KP a place everyone wants to be.
Our Peer Diversity Educators is a new group of students who are being specially trained in matters of diversity, education and inclusion and will be used to provide training to the regiment and serve as leaders for dealing with issues related to those items.
Membership in all United States Merchant Marine Academy Club must be open to all persons without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, sex, disability, veteran status, sexual orientation, or age. Clubs abide by all federal, state and local laws and to the United States Merchant Marine Academy mission and its policies and procedures. All clubs refrain from engaging in any action or situation which recklessly or intentionally endangers the mental or physical health of another or the forced consumption of alcoholic beverages or drugs for the purpose of initiation into or affiliation with the group.
