Sea Fair 2016 Demonstrates Industry Demand for Kings Point Graduates

USMMA to Hold September 11th Memorial Observance on September 12th, 2016

KINGS POINT, N.Y., September 9, 2016 – Today, President Barack Obama, proclaimed Friday, September 9 through Sunday, September 11, 2016, as National Days of Prayer and Remembrance. He asked that the people of the United States "honor and remember the victims of September 11, 2001, and their loved ones through prayer, contemplation, memorial services, the visiting of memorials, the ringing of bells, evening candlelight remembrance vigils, and other appropriate ceremonies and activities."

KINGS POINT, N.Y., September 2, 2016 – The United States Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA) is one of the nation's best institutions for undergraduate education, according to The Princeton Review. The education services company features the school in the new 2017 edition of its flagship college guide, "The Best 381 Colleges."  Only about 15% of America’s 2,500 four-year colleges are profiled in the book, which is one of The Princeton Review's most popular guides.

Maritime Administrator Honors Captain Force at Academic Convocation

KINGS POINT, N.Y., July 26, 2016 - Maritime Administrator, Paul N. Jaenichen Sr. joined Superintendent, Rear Admiral James A. Helis, Deputy Superintendent, Rear Admiral Susan Dunlap and Interim Academic Dean, David Palmer, PhD, at the United States Merchant Marine Academy’s (USMMA) annual Academic Convocation to celebrate the beginning the 2016-2017 Academic Year and to honor Captain Kenneth R. Force, the Academy’s Director of Music for over 45 years.
