USMMA Color Guard and Regimental Band to March in NYC St. Patrick's Day Parade

KINGS POINT, N.Y., March 9, 2017 - The United States Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA) Regimental Band, "George M. Cohan's Own", will march in New York City’s 256th St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Fifth Avenue, in Manhattan.

The parade, which is the world’s oldest and largest St. Patrick’s Day Parade, will be held on Thursday, March 17, starting at 11 a.m. This year’s Grand Marshall is Michael J. Dowling, President & CEO of Northwell Health.

Midshipman Matthew Miller Shares Lessons on Leadership

USMMA Midshipmen Celebrate Chinese New Year

Today, Midshipmen from the United States Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA) attended New York City's Chinese New Year Parade. The parade in which is held in Chinatown each year, is one of the largest Chinese New Year celebrations in the world. 

USMMA Hosts Admissions Field Representative Training

KINGS POINT, N.Y., February 2, 2017 –Last Friday the United States Merchant Marine Academy’s (USMMA) Department of Admissions welcomed Admissions Field Representatives for a day of training and interactive discussions regarding the USMMA admissions process. Field representatives, known as “field reps,” are alumni or parent volunteers who represent the Academy at various events in their local areas.

USMMA Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving Sweep Skyline Championships

PURCHASE, N.Y. (Jan. 28 2017) – The U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA) men's and women's swimming & diving teams both won the 2017 Skyline Conference Championship after the two-day event hosted by Purchase College concluded on Saturday. It marked the men's 19th-straight conference title (the last 16 under Head Coach Sean Tedesco) and the women's first since 2005, which was the last championship for any women's program at the Academy.
 

Academy Announces $4 Million Gift For Lower Roosevelt Field Project

KINGS POINT, N.Y., January 4, 2017 - Today, the United States Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA) announced that it received a $4 million gift through the USMMA Alumni Association and Foundation (AAF) for major renovations to Lower Roosevelt Field. The project will create a state-of-the-art sports complex at the Academy not only for the baseball field, but soccer and lacrosse surfaces as well.

USMMA Midshipmen Deliver Holiday Joy

KINGS POINT, N.Y., December 22, 2016 – Just before leaving the United States Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA) for Winter Break, Plebe Glascock and Plebe Grabiak delivered 184 toys to the Toys for Tots program at the US Marine Corps, 1st Marine Corps District, Eastern Recruiting Region in Garden City, New York.
