Nine Mariners Earn Postseason Accolades From Liberty League

KINGS POINT, N.Y. (Nov. 16, 2016) – On Wednesday, the Liberty League announced the end-of-the-year award winners and All-Liberty honors for the 2016 season and the USMMA football team had nine players recognized for their efforts this year. Four Mariners were named to the All-Liberty First Team, while two earned Second Team honors and three more were Honorable Mentions.
 

History Comes Alive During 2016 Gettysburg Battlefield Staff Ride

KINGS POINT, N.Y., October 20, 2016 - History was recently brought to life for seven members of the Class of 2017 during a staff ride to the Gettysburg Battlefield.  Held over the weekend of October 15th, the staff ride was organized by Dr. Jennifer Speelman, Associate Professor in the Kings Point Humanities Department, with the intention of enabling Midshipmen to relive the events of Gettysburg through the eyes of expert historians.

United States Merchant Marine Academy to Host Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony on 73rd Birthday

On Friday, September 30th, the United States Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA) at Kings Point will host a brief ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of USMMA’s Pollinator Garden. The ceremony will be held at USMMA’s McNulty Campus, home to the American Merchant Marine Museum.  The Honorable Paul N. Jaenichen, Sr., Maritime Administrator will be joined by Rear Admiral James A. Helis, Superintendent, Andrew Breck and Dr.
