USMMA Hosts Pep Rally Before Secretaries' Cup Game at Coast Guard
KINGS POINT, N.Y., September 9, 2016 - Yesterday, United States Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA) Midshipmen attended a pep rally in anticipation of the Secretaries' Cup, an annual football game between USMMA and The United States Coast Guard Academy (USCGA). The midshipmen also unveiled their latest USCGA challenge video which can be viewed by clicking "Beat Coast Guard Video."
The Secretaries' Cup is the biggest game of the season for both federal service academies. The rivals compete for the the cup, which was formerly called the "Secretary's Cup" when both academies were under the auspices of the U.S. Department of Transportation. The the name of the cup was changed in 2003, when when the U.S. Coast Guard Academy moved to the Department of Homeland Security.
This year's game will be held on Saturday, September 10th at 1430 at USCGA's Cadet Memorial Field in New London, Connecticut.
