USMMA’s Class of 2024 Navy Reserve Pinning Ceremony to be Livestreamed
KINGS POINT, N.Y., Sept. 24, 2020 – The United States Merchant Marine Academy's (USMMA) Class of 2024 will be sworn into the United States Navy Reserve on Saturday, Sept. 26 at 10:00 a.m. Academy Superintendent Rear Admiral Jack Buono will serve as the Reviewing Officer.
During a closed ceremony to be held at USMMA’s War Memorial, CAPT Daniel Straub, USN, Head, Department of Naval Science, will administer the Reserve Oath of Office to the class. To mark this significant milestone in their midshipman careers, each of the 277 Plebes will then receive the Merchant Marine Academy insignia that they will wear on their uniforms while they are at the Academy.

ABOUT USMMA
