USMMA Midshipmen Participate in 2023 National Conference on Ethics in America

KINGS POINT, N.Y., November 27, 2023 - On November 14th, seven First Class Midshipmen travelled from the United States Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA) at Kings Point to the United States Military Academy (USMA) at West Point to participate in the 2023 National Conference on Ethics in America hosted by USMA's Simon Center for Professional Military Ethic on November 15-16.

Cadets and midshipmen from all five sister service academies and ROTC students from over 70 institutions nationwide focused on this year’s topic, 'Developing Judgment: Bridging Theory and Practice'. The attendees of the two-day leadership session heard from over a dozen speakers who were subject matter experts in their respective fields: military, medicine, philosophy, and athletics, among others.

MIDN Sam Winkler. Regimental Executive Officer, said, "Thanks to our friends at the United States Military Academy for hosting us and to USMMA's Director of Leadership and Ethics, CAPT Patrick Keane, for making the arrangements for the seven 1/C midshipmen in attendance."
