KINGS POINT, N.Y., July 6, 2018 – Last week, the United States Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA) at Kings Point launched it's official Facebook page, U.S. Merchant Marine Academy - USMMA.

The kick-off coincided with the arrival of the plebe candidates of the Class of 2022, and in just one week has reached over 7, 000 people. With the help of the Kings Point Photography Club, Regimental Public Affairs Officer Gunnar Johnson, 1/c,  and other Academy staff, USMMA has been able to share hundreds of photos chronicling the Class of 2022's Indoctrination training, as well as other news.

 The response to the USMMA official Facebook page has been terrific,” said George Rhynedance, director of USMMA's Office of External and Congressional Affairs. “There are a lot of great things happening at the Academy and we are happy to be able to share them.”  As the Academic Year 2018-2019 commences, the page will include stories from Academics, Athletics, the Waterfront, Student Activities, the Regiment of Midshipmen and other campus venues.
