Kings Pointer Credited with Water Rescue in New Jersey
KINGS POINT, NY, Sept. 7, 2018 β On Friday, August 31, United States Merchant Marine Academy Alumnus, Lieut. Spencer Grinnell, USCG, USMMA Class of 2011, was part of a Coast Guard Search and Rescue crew that responded to a rescue call for an man and his 7-year-old granddaughter.
The two, who were spending one of the last days of summer boating, became stranded when they ran aground in the shallow waters of Grassy Point, NJ. Lieut. Grinnell, a crewmember aboard an HH-65 Dolphin helicopter out of Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City, was responsible for successfully hoisting them to safety.
