Fanfare Trumpets at Allentown Band "Holiday/Pearl Harbor Remembrance Concert"

KINGS POINT, N.Y.,  December 12, 2014 – On Sunday afternoon, the United States Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA) Fanfare Trumpets travelled to Allentown, Pennsylvania to perform with the Allentown Band at the Miller Symphony Hall. Directed by Mr. Ronald Demkee, the Allentown Band held a “Holiday/Pearl Harbor Remembrance Concert” to welcome the holiday season while paying tribute to the soldiers and sailors lost on December 7, 1941 during the attack on Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.

USMMA to Host Annual Festival of Lights

The press and public are invited to attend the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy’s Festival of Lights, an interfaith holiday celebration.  The Festival of Lights has been an annual celebration for the past 37 years. The celebration of the Festival of Lights is a reminder to bring the light to the dark places within ourselves and in our world.

The United States Merchant Marine Academy Celebrates Thanksgiving

KINGS POINT, N.Y., November 26, 2013 - On Monday evening, the United States Merchant Marine Academy’s (USMMA) administration, faculty, staff and alumni joined the Regiment of Midshipmen to celebrate Thanksgiving.  The Regimental Thanksgiving Dinner held in Delano Hall is one of USMMA’s most cherished annual traditions.

T/V Kings Pointer Returns from Fall Training Cruise

KINGS POINT, N.Y., November 21,2014 – On Friday, November 7, 2014 the United States Merchant Marine Academy’s (USMMA) training vessel, T/V Kings Pointer, completed her Fall Break Training Cruise to Philadelphia.  The vessel was fully crewed by licensed and unlicensed professional mariners plus a group of cadets earning sea days toward their United States Coast Guard licenses.

The United States Merchant Marine Academy and American Merchant Marine Museum Added to National Register of Historic Places

KINGS POINT, N.Y. , October 3, 2014 - The National Park Service has announced that the campus of the United States Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA) at Kings Point and the Barstow Mansion, home to the American Merchant Marine Museum on USMMA’s McNulty Campus, have been added to the National Register of Historic Places. This designation recognizes USMMA’s  historical significance to the nation, and acknowledges the architectural importance of the buildings.
