Members of the public are invited to attend National Maritime Day events at the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA) on Friday, May 22, 2015 starting at 7:10 a.m. The Academy will observe this special day with a brief ceremony at the War Memorial, recognition of U.S. Merchant Marine faculty and staff, and a celebration at the American Merchant Marine Museum.

KINGS POINT, N.Y., May 14 2015 - Members of the public are invited to attend the first auto show to be held on the grounds of the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, on Sunday, May 17, 2015. The event to be hosted by the Regimental Auto Club will include many classic, historic and modified vehicles. Most notable, Mrs. Walter Chrysler’s 1937 Custom Imperial LeBaron Town Car will be on display outside Wiley Hall, the former home of Walter Chrysler.

The young women toured the campus, visited the museum, participated in simulator exercises and learned about the wonderful career opportunities that are available to them.

The event, which was coordinated by the Department of Professional Development and Career Services, welcomed 28 maritime unions, vessel owners and operators, military representatives and maritime-related Federal Agencies.
