KINGS POINT, N.Y., July 1, 2015 -  Yesterday, the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point (USMMA)welcomed its incoming Class of 2019, consisting of 255 plebe candidates representing 46 states and the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. With 50 female candidates, the incoming class has the highest percentage of young women to enter the Academy in its history.

KINGS POINT, N.Y., June 23, 2015  - On Saturday the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA) at Kings Point graduated 227 new Merchant Marine and Military Officers as part of its Class of 2015 commencement ceremony. The keynote speaker, Maritime Administrator, Paul N. Jaenichen, Sr., gave the commencement address before a crowd of more than 2,200 including graduates, family members and representatives from the federal government, U.S. military and maritime industry.

The United States Merchant Marine Academy Announces 2015 Commencement Speaker

KINGS POINT, N.Y., June 10, 2015 – The U.S. Department of Transportation’s Maritime Administrator, Paul N. Jaenichen, Sr., will deliver the 79th Commencement address at the United States Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA) at Kings Point on Saturday, June 20, 2015, Rear Admiral James A. Helis announced today. This year, USMMA will award degrees to 227 midshipmen.

Class of 2015 Bell-Ringing To Be Streamed Live

The United States Merchant Marine Academy's (USMMA) newest merchant marine officers will ring the bell at Powell Oval after passing U.S. Coast Guard license exams, on Thursday, June 4th . This event will begin once results are announced, but does not have a firm start time. Results should be announced close to 1:00 p.m.
