KINGS POIT, N.Y., March 8, 2016 - The U.S. Merchant Marine Academy’s Kings Point Eagle Scout Association took advantage of some unseasonably warm weather during the month of February, to backpack through the trails of New York’s Harriman State Park.

Mark Kelly, United States Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA) Class of ’86 will be reunited with his twin brother, State University Maritime College (SUNY) Maritime Alumnus, Capt. Both the Swimming & Diving and Wrestling programs had a team member qualify for the NCAA Championships, our Men’s Lacrosse team defeated arch-rival Coast Guard, two student-athletes earned ECAC weekly praise, Swim & Dive Coach Sean Tedesco was honored by the ASCA and the 2016 baseball schedule was revealed.
KINGS POINT, N.Y., February 29, 2016 – This month the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA) at Kings Point added a barge to its fleet of training vessels. SWOB FP-217, once used as a Sewage Ship Waste Offload Barge (S-SWOB) was originally designed to collect sewage from Navy ships and small craft that are at anchor or are moored at piers without sewers.

Edenfield ‘79, served as technical advisor on education and training issues for the U.S. delegation to the International Maritime Organization (IMO) Third Session of the Sub-Committee on the Human Element, Training and Watchkeeping (HTW 3) meeting in London earlier this month.
