MajGen Vincent A. Coglianese to Speak at 2019 Battle Standard Dinner

KINGS POINT, New York, April 5, 2019 – Capt. Mikel Stroud, USMS, Commandant of Midshipmen at the United States Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA), announced that MajGen Vincent A. Coglianese, USMC, will deliver the keynote address at the 2019 Battle Standard Dinner, on Friday, April 12.

The Battle Standard Dinner is an annual event at USMMA, hosted by the Senior Class of midshipmen and honors the memory of the 142 cadet-midshipmen who lost their lives during World War II.

Midshipman Gavin Bradley Named Honor Graduate at Army Airborne Course

KINGS POINT, N.Y., April 5, 2019 –  Yesterday, during a lunchtime ceremony at the United States Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA) at Kings Point, Superintendent, Rear Admiral Jack Buono, presented Midshipman Third Class Gavin Bradley with the Academy Achievement Ribbon, recognizing him for "superior performance of his duties while attending the United States Army Basic Airborne Course.” 

USMMA Midshipmen to March in NYC St. Patrick's Day Parade

KINGS POINT, N.Y., March 12, 2019 – On Saturday, March 16th, the United States Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA) Regimental Band, “George M. Cohan’s Own,” USMMA Color Guard, and Regiment of Midshipmen will march in New York City’s 258th St. Patrick’s Day Parade.

Midshipmen Receive Sea Year Ribbons

KINGS POINT, N.Y., February 19, 2019 – This morning, U.S. Merchant Marine Academy Superintendent, Rear Admiral Jack Buono, Academic Dean and Provost, Dr. John R. Ballard and Head, Department of Professional Development and Career Services (PD&CS), Captain Gene Albert awarded Sea Year Ribbons to Class of 2021B-Split midshipmen.

Midshipmen Honored for First Term Academic Excellence

KINGS POINT, N.Y., February 12, 2019 – In a late 2018 lunch muster ceremony, Rear Admiral Buono, Superintendent, Dr. John Ballard, Academic Dean and Provost, and Captain Mike Stroud, Commandant of Midshipmen presented Gold and Silver Stars, and Sea Year Ribbons to high performing midshipmen. The trio presented the Stars for academic excellence during the first term of Academic Year 2019, and Sea Year Ribbons for superior academic achievement to members of the Class of 2019A.
