Midshipmen Honored for First Term Academic Excellence
KINGS POINT, N.Y., February 12, 2019 β In a late 2018 lunch muster ceremony, Rear Admiral Buono, Superintendent, Dr. John Ballard, Academic Dean and Provost, and Captain Mike Stroud, Commandant of Midshipmen presented Gold and Silver Stars, and Sea Year Ribbons to high performing midshipmen. The trio presented the Stars for academic excellence during the first term of Academic Year 2019, and Sea Year Ribbons for superior academic achievement to members of the Class of 2019A.
Midshipmen earned Academic Stars, as follows:
Gold Star: a QPA of at least 3.50 with no course failures in the term;
Silver Star: a QPA of at least 3.25 up to and including 3.49 with no course failures in the term.

Captain Gene Albert, Head, Department of Professional Development and Career Services, joined the group in presenting Sea Year Academic Ribbons for superior academic achievement during Sea Year to complete the ceremony.
