Brian D. Starer has more than 35 years' experience as a maritime practitioner, primarily focusing on marine casualties including grounding, sinking, fire, collision, and environmental pollution.  Mr. Starer has advised ship owners, international protection and indemnity clubs and hull underwriters. He has served as casualty counsel in more than 100 ship disasters worldwide.  He was inducted into the International Maritime Hall of Fame at the United Nations. 

Mr. Starer is a 1967 USMMA graduate.  He earned his J.D. from Albany Law School of Union University in 1972 and is a member of the International, Inter-Pacific, and American Bar Associations and the American Bar Foundation.  He is a widely published author of many articles on maritime law and is a recipient of repeated domestic and international accolades as a top-tier business lawyer in his field.  He serves on the Maritime Law Association's Committee on Navigation and Coast Guard and Government Regulation.
