Admiral Buzby Honors Mattis Family Legacy of Service

Maritime Administrator Rear Admiral Mark H. Buzby, USMMA ’79, presents Secretary of Defense James N. Mattis with a commemorative set of the decorations earned by his father as a Licensed Marine Engineer. Administrator Buzby presented the set to Secretary Mattis as part of the 82nd Commencement Exercises at the Merchant Marine Academy. Secretary Mattis was the keynote graduation speaker for the 187 graduating Midshipman.

Class of 2018 Bell-Ringing To Be Streamed Live

KINGS POINT, N.Y., May 29, 2018 - The United States Merchant Marine Academy's (USMMA) newest Merchant Marine Officers will ring the bell at Powell Oval after passing U.S. Coast Guard license exams, on Friday, June 1st. This event will begin once results are announced, but does not have a firm start time. Results should be announced close to 3:00 p.m.
