USMMA Will Sponsor 2014 Green Earth Day Hands-on Events

In celebration of Earth Day 2014, the United States Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA) at Kings Point will work with the Great Neck Library for the 3rd consecutive year to offer a weekend filled with fun and “green” focused science experiments and demonstrations.  This free public event is held to promote an appreciation of our blue planet (with a focus on the oceans),  encourgages its sustainability, and educates local youth about the importance of taking care of the environment.  The event is also part of the New York Section’s Annual Chemists Celebrate Earth Day effort.  Community youth ages 5-17 and their families are cordially invited to join the USMMA midshipmen and faculty in this celebration during the following programs:
