KINGS POINT, N.Y., September 19, 2024 – On Wednesday, the United States Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA) hosted its annual Sea Fair in O’Hara Hall, where close to 40 companies, federal agencies, and maritime organizations gathered to recruit our Nation’s next generation of maritime leaders.

The event allowed midshipmen to connect with industry professionals and explore career paths in maritime, military, and federal service. Many of the recruiters who expressed a strong interest in hiring USMMA graduates, remained afterward to conduct interviews.

The career fair, organized by the Department of Professional Development and Career Services, highlighted a variety of career opportunities that will fulfill each USMMA graduate's service obligation. Captain Ian Jones, Department Head, led the coordination of the event, which was open to the entire Regiment of Midshipmen. He said, “We are very pleased to see so many industry and military partners at Kings Point. Their ongoing support is a testament to the excellence of our students and faculty.”
